Tommy Serio Clinic Success

The Tommy Serio clinic, held earlier this month, was a big hit with auditors and participants alike. Professional, amateur, and junior riders…even a few on ponies… took advantage of the opportunity to ride with and learn from this master of the hunter ring! Mr. Serio, most recognized for his recent partnership with the hunter stallion sensation Popeye K, provided excellent instruction over the two-day clinic.

New Arrival!

Congrats to Laurie Cunningham and her mare Wyumara of Coachella, CA on the arrival of a beautiful bay filly by Mezcalero.

Fall Breed Inspections Planned

October Hill Farm will host several breed inspection events this fall including the American Holsteiner Horse Association, the Belgian Warmblood Breeding Association and the Rhineland Pfalz-Saar International. Dates are not yet firm, but will be posted as we get them. We provide a wonderful, safe facility for your mares, foals and stallion candidates and our staff is happy to assist you in your presentation

NTHJC Show Dates

October Hill Farm will host its first NTHJC event on June 13-14. We will have two one-day events, starting with Jumpers Only on Saturday. Come join us for the fun! Special classes will include the $1000 Teskey’s Paddock Jumper Classic (Saturday only), the $1000 Hunter Classic (Sunday only), and the Leadline Class (Sunday only). More information will be posted on our website soon!

AHHA Board Member Brian Bodarke of Chico, California, notified us of the birth of his Cascani foal, a filly, out of Salondra by Chanson de Kabaret.

"Hello Wendy -

Attached please find some early photos of the Cascani baby (born 2/25/09 - 3 days old). This filly was actually born 3 weeks early!

It was raining today; therefore, we can get better pictures in the future (hopefully tomorrow). We wanted to send you photos as soon as possible just in case you had a deadline for the newsletter.

The dam's name is Salondra by Chanson de Kabaret (we'll double confirm spellings early tomorrow morning :) )

The Foals are Coming!

October Hill Farm has welcomed six new additions to our growing herd! Two foals by Mezcalero, one by Ocordo, one by Winston, one by Cascani, and one by Justice are cavorting about the foal pasture enjoying the early North Texas spring weather.
